The Pantheon was built around 27 BC under the Roman Empire and today it is one of the best preserved of all the Roman buildings with even the original roof still intact.

It was built as a temple to the Gods but nowadays it is used as a church with masses held here regularly. There are also famous artists and architects buried here along with two Kings of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II and Umberto I.
